Masks for Belmont
As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, so does the need for face masks. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends wearing a cloth face mask to act as a barrier against respiratory droplets travelling in the air. I Wear I Care® aims to provide masks to those in need while also utilizing positive peer pressure to remind others of the importance of mask wearing.
As a part of our mission to provide masks to our communities, we visited Belmont, North Carolina to do just that. With masks to give, The I Wear I Care® team took this opportunity to reach out to community members and share our mission. This gorgeous Friday brought people out of their homes and to downtown Belmont to enjoy all the food and charm the small town has to offer.
We began our efforts at The String Bean by handing out masks to the employees and customers. The String Bean opened on Main Street in 2009 and has been a hotspot in Belmont eversince. Patrons approached us inquiring about the masks and our goals.
After visiting the String Bean, we made our way to Belmont Specialty Foods, Jolie Boutique, and Catawba River Outfitters to distribute more masks and tell the story of I Wear I Care®. Everyone we encountered was so grateful for the masks and our goal to beat COVID-19 together.
With COVID-19 cases rising and mask mandates becoming more prevalent, it’s a crucial time to wear a mask. Wearing a mask is a simple act that shows dedication to maintaining healthy communities and slowing the spread of COVID-19. Let’s all do our part to show the world that we care.
